a spring day with the winters

after much planning and negotiating, the winter family was finally able to come out to see our house. ( for those of you who don’t know the winters, they are aunt, uncle, and cousins from my mother’s side of the family. ) pheonix and ethan were the two strapping young men whom you might recognize from our cake cutting! ;)

in any case, they came to see the house and we shared an unbelievable day of ice cream + cat-catching! in the words of the beautiful and talented cassidy “we didn’t have fun, we had infinity times fun, fun!”

thanks for the great afternoon!

chicago : round three

on the last day of our trip we were able to visit kim’s ESL class. we were surprised to find that she had created an assignment around us. unfortunately, our tardiness left them with only our stick-figures to practice on. oops!

after her class, we went to rigley field as a last hurah!

chicago : round two

during our stay, the lovely erin protected us from the harsh weather. she smashingly accommodated for our ridiculous schedule and didn’t complain when we continually stole things out of her kitchen.

erin. thanks so much! we would have frozen without you!

here’s some that we took in her awesome backyard

chicago : round one

notextile.

first of all, the “wedded bliss” that you would have inevitably asked about, had we been face-to-face, is unbelievable. we find new excitements everyday in being married.

now for the news…

a few months ago, my deal-finding-secret-agent of a wife presented me with $90 / round-trip tickets to chicago. the tickets were a bargain on any airline, but i think jetBlue’s 37 channels of inFlight DirectTV really spoke to our TVless little hearts.

here are some pictures of our first day. ( brian is nellie’s cousin, notable by his towering stance over the wee rest of us )
